In a time when violence and blood-lust rule the TV airwaves, Terminal Island prison has taken motorsport to a whole new level.

Brutal and ballsy, the felons have the choice of drive or die in Death Race, Jason Statham’s latest flick, which is out later this month. Think of it as stock car racing with guns and large spikes – what’s not to love.

Statham has left Lock Stock far behind him and carved out a role in the action world with adrenaline favourites Transporter and Crank. In Death Race, which is out on 26th September, he plays three-time speedway champion Jensen Ames.

Framed for a murder, Ames is forced to take the wheel as the masked driver Frankenstein and compete in the races, or face rotting in his cell. It’s guaranteed to be a fast-paced, action-packed, high octane thrill ride.
