DIY 350Z splitter

Just because someone says they run a bodyshop on a forum, does not mean that they are any good…

Choosing the right place to kit up your car is almost as important as choosing the right tattoo parlour. Even though it’s not permanent, it’s a lot of money to lose in one hit.

Take for example this dude on 350Z.com. He took a gamble and left his pride and joy Nissan and brand new bodykit with a guy who already had a mixed reputation on the site.

The Nissan owner believed he was in good hands, he trusted the guy and was happy with the $250 quote for the kit to be painted and fitted.

It should be here that alarm bells start to ring. Any bodyshop that knows its business will always want to see the kit and the car before giving a quote.

After several missed deadlines by the one-man-band bodyshop, the Nissan was collected and instead of looking like a silicon-enhanced beauty, it ended up more like Jackie Stallone. The final bill meanwhile was three times the original quote.

Just check out the following pictures. It makes me feel so bad for the 350's owner. How many screws does it take to hold on one sideskirt and the panels have ended up with more runs than the Olympics!
