Five is the magic number

How much would you pay for a custom number plate? What about US$6.8 million or more? Well, if you want to be a baller in Abu Dhabi, then that’s what you’ll have to shell out.

Only last week UK tuner Azfal Khan dropped £440,000 on the exclusive licence plate F1. While we were all pretty amazed at anyone spending the equivalent of a suburban detached house on just a licence plate, this is actually fairly low-key in the United Arab Emirates.

Check out the video below for how one guy rolls in the Middle East. Eager to get the number ‘1’ for his car, he has ‘reluctantly’ capped his limit at $20m for the short term and ultimately settled for ‘5’ at $US6.8m to keep him going. You can’t help but feel a bit sore after getting stung at £1.09 per litre.
