I’ve got into drag
You’ve not had many updates on the Mr2 project recently, but that’s not because I’ve not wanted to work on the car, it’s just that parts cost money and my pockets have been shallower than a Sahara puddle lately.
That aside, I’ve taken the plunge for 2009 and entered the Pro Street Drag Series at the Shakespeare Raceway in the UK. Last year, site user CliffJ took his Nissan R33 Skyline to the full series final and won.
Having entered, it’s given me a challenge to get the odd jobs sorted on the car and modify the faithful 2’s engine. Eeking as much power as possible from its 2.0-litre 3s-GTE engine and still being able to drive to work in it.
How will I do? I have to admit I’m starting to sweat, as the realisation of what I’ve committed to is dawning. I've seen the list of my fellow-competitors and it's making me want to run for cover more than run the ¼ mile…
