Nissan Qashqai on yer’ bike.

It seems almost a lifetime ago that I was invited along to the London final of the 2008 Nissan Qashqai Challenge, held on the South Bank of the river Thames.

Unfortunately, in a bizarre case of mislaid tapes, I thought I had lost all the video footage forever. But thanks to a minor miracle and a spot of spring-cleaning, the tape was unearthed in the bottom of my bag.

While Nissan sponsored the event, we didn’t even get a sit in the fun off-roader, or even see the bikers jump over one in spectacular fashion. But despite this we still had a great day and all of the riders put on amazing show, performing some gravity defying jumps.

The local British riders stole the show, with Colchester’s Sam Pilgrim taking the event win and Lance McDermott sealing the overall series title to take the sports largest cash prize of €40,000.

Its worth mentioning that this footage nearly cost Road Runner his life, as the scaffolding supporting the media tower he was on collapsed. So, without further ado it’s with great pleasure and a bit of good luck that I bring you our video from the Nissan Qashqai Challenge – it’s totally rad man!
