Volvo C30 Rocks

I can’t believe that I’ve written a headline saying that a Volvo rocks. The boxes on wheels from Sweden are more in tune with the suburbs, Labradors and those who prefer sensible motoring…A far cry from the world of Motoraddicts and everything we stand for.

That is until we spotted this ice-cold C30 on the Britishmods site. The car is owned by Sam, who lives in Belgium and this is his second C30 - his first project was sadly wiped out by a drunk driver. But, now he has now come back stronger than the local beer.

The crisp, clean, Swedish sledge has been decked, and you can forget springs and shocks with a drop that big. Sam has installed a 90-litre compressor with two 13-litre air tanks in the boot for a full air-ride set up.

The huge drop allows the arches to swallow up the 18-inch Team Dynamics as the car is parked. It’s so low-rider the Volvo image of beardy Swedish drivers is disappearing out of my mind rapidly.

The big front grill is from Heico Sportive and the bumper kit is an R-design. The car has been shaved and long gone are the wipers and badges. Sam had his carbon-fibre mirror housings custom made and the hint of weave on a white car looks cooler than an Eskimo’s outhouse.
