Getting your car ready for the track can mean more than slapping on a sport suspension pack, stripping out the interior and removing the loose change from the centre console.

Often overlooked as part of a race set-up, getting your wheels aligned can make a real difference to your lap times.

The kings of tuned set-ups at Motorworx invited us down to check out their high tech wheel alignment machine. Being only one of three in the UK it’s no wonder that UK Time Attack competitors use it to get the best track set-up on their cars.

The system is as about as precise as it gets for getting the best out of your handling. While the machine can be used to check out irregular tyre wear and shaky steering on standard cars, it really comes into play for cars running coilover suspension.

Using the tuner programme allows the fine tuning of both ride-height and shock adjustment.

Camber, ride height and corner weight are all fed into the system and can give the guys a clear understanding of how the car performs out on the track. And perhaps more importantly helping to identify the adjustments to make it go even faster…
