205 GTI by Spo 106 still French, still breaking down

Another French hatch, another problem to sort out. As the 205 still is hanging in the balance of life or death, I have been scooting around in the 106 1.1 XN. I think maybe a horse and cart would have more mod-cons and power. However besides the fact the bean can on wheels is no BMW or powerful import it is all i have. The Brake pad has worn and i get a fantastic metal to metal grinding noise. Operation fix brakes. We start well by buying in new disk and pads, not expensive from a late...

Had a great time over the weekend at Santa Pod as it was the wrap up for 2006 RWYB. A good few 205 GTIs where putting down some good times many with the MI16 lump under the hood. Think back to the planning desk

We’ll I may not be a race mechanic, but I know when a Hiroshima sized plume of white smoke leaps from the engine bay, something may not be in ideal running condition. After fixing the blown hose with some newly acquired flash tools that morning, all seemed well, then disaster stuck. After running for about 20 seconds the fatal smoke rose from the engine and everything came to a stand still… Gutted! I am know reverted to driving my old 1.1XN 106, it has four gears and tops out at 70mph, not...

It's not all interviews and swanning around car shows you know! A few too many street battles took its toll on the old pug lump and something had to give! This time it was just a hose that decided to give up the ghost and die on me...After gushing out boiling hot coolant, I set to work in trying to work in the cramped conditions of a 205 engine bay. The hose was mid way down the back of the block and the jubilee clip was in the hardest place to get too, so after a lot of swearing and tool...

As the summer fades and the evenings draw in a headlight bulb change is on the cards. I went to my local tuning store and picked up a set of Cosmos Super Rainbow/Purple Bulbs 90/100w They are more powerful than the 55/60w standards and certainly improve vision when driving down unlit streets. I also choose some street legal blue/ice white sidelight bulbs, which add a crisp white/blue colour. Total bill £18.99 Main H4 Bulbs £15.00 501 capless sidelights £3.99 Lights on full (dipped)
