Project Blackjack – The Rising Stormposted by GameAddict, Thursday
Ever fancied owning a drift car and jetting off to smoke up the world's most famous race tracks? Of course you have. Ever sessioned a racing game for so long that your thumbs turned white and you brain forgot how to blink? Well these guys have combined those two noble past times, and in the process, made the most epic piece of Forza Motorsport 2 action we've seen…by miles. And the best thing about it is that anyone with an Xbox360 and a copy of Forza can recreate it, letting you...
Audi unleashes über R8
posted by NewCarAddict, Wednesday
An £80,000, 420bhp Audi R8 not manly enough for you, eh? Then wrap your eyes around this. Unveiled at last week's Essen Motorshow the R8 LMS is an out-of-the-box, ready-to-race GT3 car – the first of its kind ever developed by Audi specifically for customer use. That means any of us could get our hands on one…if of course any of us have a spare £225,000 down the back of the sofa. Haven't they heard about the credit crunch? For the money, the road-going 4.2litre...
Motorstorm rips up the Pacific
posted by GameAddict, Monday
Back when the Playstation 3 first hit the shelves in early 2007, one of the first racing titles to accompany the new console was Motorstorm. At its core, the game was a raw off-road racer, serving up dirt and destruction in measures that had previously been unseen. Nearly two years later, and we've got our hands on the long-awaited sequel. The first instalment broke new ground with its super sharp graphics, and real time deformation of tracks; meaning bigger vehicles like trucks...
General Lee’s hip-hop connection
posted by NewCarAddict, 28-Nov-08
It’s not all SUVs and 24-inch chrome rims in the rap world. This General Lee replica 1968 Dodge Custom was owned by Atlanta Crunk duo the Ying Yang Twins and is now up for grabs on e-bay. Could it be that bling bling and cheddar is getting a little mouldy as the credit crunch hits? The highest bidder will get a car sat on 20-inch custom Bomspeed rims, with a fully loaded Orange and Black interior and $8500 Rockford Fosgate audio install that would shake the...
Fensport Celica
posted by NewCarAddict, 25-Nov-08
This Fensport Celica has been around for a fair few years now, but it still never fails to stop me having another good look around it, if I ever spot it at a show. Built to demonstrate the know-how of Fensport, it had to prove itself on the drag scene as well as mix it up with the Time Attack lot. It may be older than time itself, but the Fensport Celica is still a main player in the modified car game. A 3S-GTE from the GT4 and MR2 has replaced the original VVT-I...
Carbon Sparco seat for Jnr.
posted by ProductAddict, 24-Nov-08
When I first clapped my eyes on this full carbon racing baby bucket seat, I immediately thought it was cool as sh*t. I’m not aware of being anyone’s father, but this would be the baby seat I’d choose for my offspring should my name pop up on any DNA tests... Let’s face it, a mothercare edition seat will look pretty ugly in a car that can do 60mph in sub five seconds, transforming your nice sleek sports seat into something as bulky as a stickle...
American chopper – Corvette
posted by NewCarAddict, 24-Nov-08
Forget the tripe served on Pimp My Ride, we all know when it comes to building the best custom machines on the planet you have to tune into American Choppers. They may only have two-wheels but any true petrol head will acknowledge that watching the series is inspirational for any budding spanner monkey. If you're a fan of the show – and why wouldn't you be? - Paul Teutul Sr will need no introduction as the big boss man behind Orange County Choppers and the hit TV...
UK speeders look out
posted by AddictEDITOR, 21-Nov-08
Another government attack on the motorist has made its way to the headlines in the UK this week. The latest proposal could see anyone caught driving 20mph over the limit dealt six penalty points instead of the current three. This I think is a good idea in residential and built-up areas as driving 20mph over the limit in a 30 zone is entirely unacceptable. However, current thinking is that this will also apply on the motorways, where the 70mph speed limit is...
Welcome to the dark side!
posted by NewCarAddict, 20-Nov-08
If you happen to regularly frequent this site then you may know there is nothing I like better than a matt black supercar. The flat paintwork adds a certain extra menace to cars that would leave you choking on its tyre smoke at the lights as it roars off down the highway scaring small children and old people. A prime example is the Avalanche Roadster GTR by Gemballa. This super stealth car is based on the Porsche 997 convertible, finished in the matt paint and with...
Veyron FAIL
posted by NewCarAddict, 19-Nov-08
It’s not often you see a stuffed Veyron, so we’d like to take this opportunity to gawp, stare and maybe chuckle, a little. The info is limited, but we do know that this beached Bugatti ate gravel on the Audi S-corner at the Zandvoort circuit. I’m also sure the owner is not going to be shy of a bob-or-two to fix the fancy French motor back up. Despite crashing the £800,000 car we have to admire the ballsy driver. He didn’t just buy the car...
