Up-4-grabs: The Annual 2009 CD
posted by LifestyleAddict, 28-Oct-08
As the darker nights draw in and the good times of summer become nothing more than a faint memory, the good people at Ministry of Sound have just the cure for the winter blues.   Fancy re-living those summer-time highs?   If your holiday was anything like mine, then it was set to an awesome soundtrack like Eric Prydz’s Pianoo, which had me busting out some shapes until the sun rose.   In celebration of the last 12 months, MOS have again put together 40...

Motion picture

Taking a snap shot of your car is pretty much what I do. I point and click the camera in the general direction of the car with fingers crossed, hoping I get a good shot. If I’m feeling extra flashy I may even squat down to get a low, angled, ¾ shot.   The difference between my point, click and go skills and a professional car snapper is about a million miles.   Tim Wallace is a car snapper of the highest degree and you can tell that he has some mad skills...

1975 Celica RA25 GT Liftback
posted by AddictEDITOR, 28-Oct-08
I’m sat here day-dreaming again at my desk, while trying to unearth some of the coolest motoring news that the world has on offer. But, then I thought I should just tell you about my day dream as it's not the one about me staring in an x-rated version of Baywatch with Ms. P. Anderson.   Today the model I am lusting over is the 1975 Celica RA25 GT Liftback and guess what, there's one up for grabs on ebay.   I think anyone that digs Japanese motors and even fans of...

Road test: Evo X
posted by NewCarAddict, 30-Oct-08
My phone rang and straight away my friend E hit me with the question: “So how was it?” He had heard through the grapevine that I’d just driven home in the Mitsuibishi Evo X.   “It’s a licence loser” I replied. There was no doubt that I’d have to keep my right foot heavily under control over the seven days with the FQ-300. On most cars speedo clocks, 60mph is roughly at nine o’clock. In the Evo X, it’s 100mph and it gets there...

Rob Dyrdek rocks a T-Rex
posted by AddictEDITOR, 31-Oct-08
Ever since I got behind the wheel of the Campagna T-Rex, I’ve never driven anything that comes close to the acceleration and sheer lunacy of this three-wheeler.   It’s like heroin for petrolheads. After that first taster, everything else seems a little bland and you just want more.   Feeding my addiction I got a buzz from checking out pro-skater, Rob Dyrdek’s all-white edition T-Rex. I’m a big fan of white motors but this looks ultra good,...

VW Scirocco GT24
posted by MotorsportAddict, 31-Oct-08
Having the new Scirocco parked outside Motoraddicts HQ had me drooling by the time I got to my desk this morning.   You’ll get a full update on the road-going version over the next few days. But, until then have you seen the GT24? The racing version of the Scirocco.   A carbon clad racing monster that is longer and wider than its road-ready counterpart. A keen eye will spot that the racer is also sat 75mm lower and on a hefty set of 18-inch rims.   The engine...

Should a super car have four doors?
posted by NewCarAddict, 03-Nov-08
The whole point of a real super car is to be ridiculous. The Bugatti Veyron is a prime example of a modern day super car. You’d have to be either foolhardy or obscenely rich if you were to use one for a run down to the local shop for cat food. Non-petrolheads and those tree hugger types will never understand the greatness of impracticality. With this in mind, why oh why have Lamborghini tried to make something with a more functional role? The new four-door Estoque. Has the car...

SCC’s Halloween Cruise
posted by EventAddict, 04-Nov-08
Big thanks to the South Central Cruisers for arranging a meet on Halloween, giving me an excuse to get out of the flat before a hundred kids started belting on my door asking for sweets or £5 notes.   I had VW’s new and all-powerful Sirocco TSi sat outside, and a few mates that didn’t want to stay indoors rationing out candy to snotty-nosed brats…   It was colder than an Arctic beach party at the small retail park in High Wycombe, but the girls...

Hummer lays track down at SEMA
posted by NewCarAddict, 05-Nov-08
At this year’s SEMA show there are some amazing rides on display and the largest car show in the world opened its doors yesterday.   Although all eyes will be on the show halls, this Hummer H2T shows that’s it’s not just about what’s on the stands. Who needs wheels when you can roll on tracks?   Yep it’s time to bin those chrome, ballin’ 22-inch rims that cost the same as a small family car, for some all-terrain belts.   Probably...

Word from SEMA is that the Camaro is king.
posted by NewCarAddict, 05-Nov-08
The American Muscle car is taking this year’s SEMA show by storm and here is a super fine example that everyone should see - the MotiV8r built by Prodigy Customs.   Transformation from a stock red Camaro to the grey and carbon street eater it is today is an incredible journey. Any tell-tale signs of the car’s age have been removed to make this classic look fresher than it did all those years ago.   The MotiV8r runs a Richmond 6-speed box with a Centreforce...
