First drive in a GTR…
As I strolled out of Motoraddicts HQ last night, I instantly recognised the profile of the Nissan GTR. As you’d expect, I dropped my bags and rummaged around for my digi camera.
Having taken a good look around, there I was with my face pressed against the window. Unsurprisingly, when the guy borrowing the car offered to take me for a spin, he didn’t need to ask twice.
Although lucky enough to have sat in a GTR, I had never been out on the road in one before.
The digi cam was now swapped over for the video camera (see, I thought about you guys) and we steadily headed out round the block. The car was pretty comfy and the big centre console screen dominates the front dash. We pressed various buttons and brought up the G-Force meter. Let’s remember, this is a car not a fighter plane!
All seemed calm, till the driver planted his right foot.
I’ve never felt such power transfer to the road the way the GTR does - simply amazing. I was in the passenger seat and it’s still hard to judge a car from there, but oh my days this car is the real deal.
Still buzzing from just being a passenger, I really can’t wait to experience the GTR from behind the wheel. Just like heroin it’s left me wanting more, am I now a GTR junkie? I think so…
