Help needed - new car conundrum
Cash to spend and a whole lot of choice, but what to buy?
If everything you hear is to be believed then the world is doomed, the world economy is going to the dogs and nobody will ever be able to buy a new car again.
That said, a good friend of mine is in the market for a new motor (through necessity rather than desire as his Mk3 Golf GTi is about to die) but he’s having some trouble reaching a decision.
I’ve come up with a few suggestions, none of which have inspired any huge amount of excitement. So I’m looking for some outside help.
There are, unsurprisingly, some quite specific criteria to be filled:
- This is a daily runner as he’s got a 1989 911 C2 for white knuckle rides at the weekend
- It needs to do about 100 miles a day in all weather
- It will be driven largely by his sexy lady friend, so it needs to be female friendly
- Ideally four seats (or 2+2)
- Some boot space would be useful
- Not more than 7 years old and less then 60,000 miles
- Quick enough to put a smile on your face
- Has to look the shizzle…
- The all important one is that the budget has been set at £8k
Current leading contenders include: Alfa Romeo GTV, Audi TT, Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper S…

All suggestions welcome. Good hunting…
