Rotrex Supercharged Civic Type R
I was 7th in the Time Attack club challenge today at donnington. Out of 25 cars including skylines, evos, scoobys etc. If you read the website I think my car is supposed to be the 5th least powerfull! The key to it is getting the power down which my car did very well thanks to its supercharger. Every BHP I have is 100% usable. Even Ron kiddel was amazed with it performace on saturday when I ran 3rd fastest in the last 2 session. Unfortunatley a massive headwind down the main straight on sunday really disadvantaged me. While I can out corner and out brake skylines/evos etc you need the raw gunt to push through the air at 140mph or so. As you know my car runs 420 bhp or so and most of the skylines turned up the boost for the last session. This combined with the headwind was a big problem.
The car is basically 1.5 seconds quicker than last year with the JRSC. Last year the conditions were more favorable so the difference is probably more.
Last year with JRSC - 1:24.822
This year with Rotrex - 1:23.322
It ran faultlessly both days, and the spectators were very entusiastic about the flames and noise! I am just sorry that on sunday they would not let the general public into the pits. It would have been good to have met any CTR entusiasts that came to watch.
Thanks must go to TTS for producing a Top notch setup, and to Paul west for his rivet gun rebuilding abilities, and to Zen performance for donating rivets and said gun to replace the broken rivets in the scoop (the only problem of the weekend).

These are two video clip I have put on youtube. The first is me running down the main straight and pit straight at donnington. The skylines aren't especially fast or well driven, but at least you get an impression of how the car ran. It was hard to find any good footage of me passing cars, as they all moved over and let me past. I had been running with my lights on the whole weekend so other cars would remember me passing them- it was obviously working. 2 things worth noting are how heavy the skylines are and how early they have to break. The second thing to notice the blip in revs as I pass under the bridge when I hit the bump / crest. Thats wheel spin at over 100mhp in 5th gear. I could have adjusted the damping to compensate, but it was handing so nice the rest on the track I didn't want to change anything.

The second clip shows why you should always let faster cars past on the straight. He cut me up bigstyle as overtaking is only allowed on the left. He basically overcooked the next bend as he was worried about me. He is running an all carbon exiege - check out his entry speed !
