‘Vette launches V for Victory

US car giant Corvette has gone to town to celebrate its Le Mans success by producing 250 ‘Victory Edition’ Coupes, which look badder than a bad mamma jamma.

The Victory edition coupe is based on the C6 Coupe which shares strong links with the Corvette racing C6R and the awesome Z06 and goes some way to celebrating the marque’s five class wins between 2001 and 2006 in the gruelling Le Mans classic.

The Victory ‘Vette will have a price tag of £51,285, but if you opt for the paddle shift expect to pay £53,685. So what do you get for your money apart from a limited edition?

The commemorative motor will run the LS2 6.0-Litre V8 engine that pops out 404bhp and a massive 546 Nm of torque.

You can have any colour you like, as long as it’s black or yellow. And your V8 powered Victory will also be sat on 18-inch front wheels and some whopping ‘19-inchers’ on the rear - all in a grey aluminium finish.

The interior has been splashed in two-tone leather which looks as if a whole herd of finest bovine has been culled for a single car. Unfortunately Corvette has opted for carbon-look interior trim, rather than the real deal, which is a slight blip on the excitement front.

However, you do get a unique numbered badge that you can show off to your pals when you pull up at the local meet.

Forget the limited edition badge though, the coolest feature by far, and well worth forking out the money for, is a head-up g-force meter. Show that off to your friends as you collect some serious lateral g’s in sideways action…

Do the firm have another winner with the Victory edition Corvette Coupe? We sure think so…
