Old boy rules
If you thought old people moved slowly in fear of busting a hip, think again.
You may want this 85-year-old rebel geriatric as your grandad as he just got busted as the oldest street racer in Canada, respect!
The speedy old timer was tugged by local cops on a main highway north of Toronto as he blasted past their marked cop car in his Oldsmobile, reaching 161km/h.
The cop reported that the Oldsmobile passed her car at 140km/h then speed up. Once he was pulled over, the gent explained that he was just on the way to the bank.
The latest Canadian law was brought in to target young racers and charge them with street racing if they were 50km/h over the speed limit. Until this latest incident the oldest person to get collared due to the new law was a 75-year-old man and the youngest was a 16-year-old women.
Under the three month old legislation, the vintage racer could face a minimum fine of $2,000, have his license suspended and find his car impounded for a week. I guess you could say the Mounties always get their man.
