Friday
At last! I was so chuffing excited that it was finally Friday - time to collect my mongrel mix-up Border/Tom’s bodykit from Coolkits in East London.
I’d already written the blog at least six times over in my head; the plan was to line the kit up on the car and even try to mount the front bumper to get some sneak-peek preview pics.
But the weather had other ideas. Yet again the heavens opened and at this rate I’m going to get webbed feet! All this rain is ruining the car meets, shows and my blog!
The kit has now been stashed away with the rest of my goodies that are slowly piling up. I just need the rain to stop so I can get out there…

Saturday
Still buzzing about my kit, it was time to treat the MR to some lovin, chicka chicka yeah!
My chariot suffers as I use it everyday on the daily commute to Motoraddicts HQ. The paintwork was looking flatter than a pancake and with Trax the following day, it really needed some detailing if it wasn’t going to get laughed at.
You guessed it I’m going to moan about the weather again. My flat doesn’t have a garage and polish and rain just don’t mix. After a phone call to the good people at Motorworx, they agreed to let me seek shelter at their workshop – thanks guys!
The first step to getting the shine back was to G3 the whole car. The bodyshop cutting paste is hardcore especially when you are adding and removing it by hand. Thank goodness my wrists are strong from all those years of polishing cars...
After several long hours each body panel was done. Sweating and aching already, my shine process had only just begun!
Next came a layer of Shining Monkey wax. I used a polish applicator and it saved me huge amounts of time. After the wax was buffed off, I sealed in the new panel shine with the Shining Monkey polish. Finally I buffed the whole car with a micro-fibre to really give it that showroom pizzazz.
I was done and ready for Trax – and if you notice my grubby wheels, I thought it would be better to clean them at the show. Check out the Trax report to see how we got on…
