Donk, Box or Bubble??
If you don’t follow trends in the US, then you may not be aware of the scene that is called hi-rising, donk, box or bubble.
By hi-rise, we don’t mean grimy tower block apartments in south London. This is about taking a cheap old-skool car, usually a Chevy, jacking up the ride height with an aftermarket raiser kit and adding 26-30 inch chrome rims.
While the names may sound like I have been hitting the nitrous on the lunch break, but they actually denote the style of the car you’ve chosen to modify.
Hi-rising is gaining popularity as it is a cheap route into the modified car scene as an Impala can easily be bought, raised and have big rims fitted on a tight budget. But like all the other modified car scenes, the amount of money spent on a car is only limited to the depth of the owners’ pockets or their imagination.
