Tough break for Webber
Everyone in the Motoraddicts office is wishing F1 driver Mark Webber a speedy recovery after the Aussi Red Bull ace broke his leg after colliding with a 4x4 on a charity cycle ride.
Undergoing surgery to fix the snapped limb, Webber was reported to still be in good spirits despite the accident. The cycle ride is part of the F1 drivers’ own multi-sport charity event, and Geoff Donohue the event’s director, told the BBC that: “He’ll be in hospital for at least three days. For sure, under a week.”
His team are predicting that he’ll be back in the race car easily in time for the start of the new F1 season in March.
It’s good to see that this F1 driver is no namby-pamby wussy, though. On Webber’s down time he was prepared to mix it up on a mountain bike to raise money for a good cause. In our opinion, Webber is the balls.
