Map of the month
What a way to kick start this latest section than looking at the mother of all roads. A place where you can pay your toll, race against Porsches and motorbikes in your own car –some would call this place Heaven, we just like to call it the Nordschleife.
The map was plotted by site user Stefan, from Germany, and although he doesn’t mention in his blog whether he is a veteran of the car claiming Nurburg ring, the map does give you an indication of how flippin’ massive the former Grand Prix circuit is.
Switch the view into satellite mode and you can clearly see the graffiti that has been painted on the track. A stark remembrance for those who have crashed out and eaten Armco barrier…
‘The ring’ as it is known to many is the Mecca for real car fans, and most days of the week you can spot hundreds of different nationalities waiting to test their metal against the unforgiving turns of the most challenging race circuit in the world.
